terrell brown is in boston for us tonight. terrell, what do you see? >> reporter: scott, we're just outside of the perimeter that police have set up and still even as night has fallen here it's very much an active scene. we have seen state police, boston police, swat teams moving about here. even national guard troops brought in by the school bus load to work on securing this crime scene. of course over the next couple of days. what was interesting is that we're on the outside of that perimeter and there's a line of trash cans about four or five of them that local businesses here, they've been closed since that initial explosion, there's been a security guard that was instructed by police to look in each one of those trash cans. so we watched him pace back and forth throughout the course of many hours and then while we were on the air tonight, scott, we actually saw police move in and take those trash cans off the street. it appeared to be out of an abundance of caution. we also know that investigators and bomb protection uniforms are walking the stree
